This site is called “labs”, so let’s have a look into what’s going on there. Down below you see a prototype of a new H5P content type. It was commissioned by NDLA half a year ago, but they currently do have other priorities, so the missing bits and pieces will remain missing for a while. BUT NDLA are absolutely fine with me showing this to you. If you think this content type prototype deserves further development, you are more then welcome to chip in. It’s open source, and this is how open source should work.
But what am I babbling about here? This. H5P.Gamifier.
Think of it as QuestionSet in a more gamified way. You can put H5P subcontents into Gamifier, and it will add lots of things that make an online game: animations, sounds, scores, lifes, time limits, etc. One difference to QuestionSet is, however, that you cannot only put exercises in there. In this prototype, you can see plain text, for instance. But it could also be Audio, Video, Image Hotspots, etc.
Did I mention that this is only a prototype?
The full screen button is not doing anything yet. There are only a handful of content types available. There’s no intro screen or result screen. Neither is H5P’s new theming capability supported nor is the new components library used to keep buttons and other elements uniform. The inbuilt audio picker resets once it is closed (due to limitations of the H5P editor). And there likely are bugs. Find them at https://github.com/ndlano/h5p-gamifier 🙂
Please feel free to leave a comment, but please – pretty pretty please – understand that I am the contractor here. I cannot tell you if or when this will be further worked on. I cannot tell you if any suggestion that you have would be considered to be implemented. I now merely put the word out there.
