Suddenly many teachers want to or are supposed to teach online in some way, and they rush to services like <a href=\"https:\/\/learningsapps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LearningApps<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/zumpad.zum.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ZUMpad<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/h5p.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">H5P.org<\/a>. The corresponding sites can&#8217;t cope with all the traffic and sometimes simply break down.<\/p>\n<p>Dear teachers, I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s great for you being able to use the above-mentioned or similar services for free. Please don&#8217;t do it thoughtlessly though! Developing and hosting those services <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zum.de\/portal\/%C3%BCber\/die-zum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">costs money<\/a>! Non-profit organizations like <a href=\"http:\/\/verein.learningapps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LearningApps<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zum.de\/portal\/%C3%BCber\/die-zum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zentrale f\u00fcr Unterrichtsmedien<\/a> or the company <a href=\"https:\/\/joubel.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joubel<\/a> pay for you. Please think about that. They gladly do that within a reasonable scope (h5p.org explicitly for trying out the software before you host it on your own server), but at some point they won&#8217;t be able to do that anymore! And then you will have shot yourself in the foot with your thoughtlessness and\/or excess, because the services will have to be shut down. I sincerely hope that you care.<\/p>\n<p>Please use those gifts mindfully!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COVID-19 keeps the world of education on its toes.
